LIGHT METALS: ALUMINUM, MAGNESIUM, AND TITANIUM
Abstract submission for the TMS 2013 Annual Meeting is now closed.
Aluminum Alloys: Fabrication, Characterization and Applications
This symposium will cover all aspects of the physical and mechanical metallurgy of aluminum alloys. It will also address fundamental and applied research as well as product development, testing and implementation.
|
Alumina and Bauxite
This symposium, along with the Cast Shop Technology, Aluminum Reduction Technology and Electrode Technology symposia collectively form the Light Metals Symposium. Here, experts from the Light Metals Industry and academia from all over the world will meet each other and share information.
|
Aluminum Processing
This symposium will cover all processing methods applied to solid aluminum, as well as the resulting process specific product properties. There will be special focus on the main processing routes in the aluminum industry.
|
Aluminum Reduction Technology
This symposium covers aspects of the aluminum reduction process. The Aluminum Reduction Technology Symposium, along with Alumina and Bauxite, Cast Shop Technology, Electrode Technology for Aluminum Production collectively forms the Light Metals Symposium.
|
Cast Shop for Aluminum Production
This symposium will cover the following areas in cast shop technology: charge materials, pre-furnace treatment, melting, fluxing, filtration, cast processes, automation, process modeling and control, environmental issues, grain refinement, cast structure, and safety.
|
Cost Affordable Titanium IV
In this proposed, six-session symposium, papers addressing all aspects of cost reduction in titanium and its alloys will be presented and published. Various segments of titanium technology also will be covered.
|
Deformation, Damage, and Fracture of Light Metals and Alloys
This symposium will focus on deformation, damage, and fracture of light metals and alloys at room temperature and at elevated temperatures in their service environments. Papers in both experimental and modeling studies are solicited.
|
Electrode Technology for Aluminium Production
This symposium will focus on carbon anode raw materials and properties; paste plant design and operation; baking furnace design and operation; rodding room design and operation; anode quality and performance; solutions for carbon plant environmental issues and safety; cathode and cathode materials; cell preheating and startup; spent potlining; inert electrode fabrication and materials science.
