This web site provides access to background information, public documents and other resources related to the activities of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board. This independent board is charged with providing safety oversight of the nuclear weapons complex operated by the DOE, including disposal of excess radioactive materials and cleaning up surplus facilities. An interactive map on the home page leads to overviews of various clean up projects.
