SMC was the first company to develop and introduce the newest technology of continuous cast and conformed rod which offers the highest quality grain refining rod, strontium-aluminum rod or other master alloy rod in the industry.

Our continuing efforts in technical development have resulted in a variety of new grain refiners or master alloys and hardeners for use in the primary, secondary, and foundry markets. SMC not only offers traditional briquettes of manganese, iron, and chrome but also our newest product ALTAB which offers the most cost effective means of adding manganese, iron, chromium, copper, etc. to molten aluminum.
