The Study Guide for Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam-Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, 2022 Revised Edition contains sample problems and solutions relating to the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering PE exam, which is used to determine those candidates who are eligible for professional registration in the United States. This revised edition of the study guide reflects the transition to this computer-based format and change to exam management. Exam specifications have not changed. 

The problems in this study guide are designed to acquaint the reader with typical National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) examinations. No representation is made or intended as to future problems, content, or subject matter of any particular metallurgical or materials exam.
