Liquid Metal Processing & Casting Conference (LMPC 2017)
September 10–13, 2017 • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Don’t miss this opportunity to share your work and connect with leaders to discuss the latest developments in liquid metal processing research. Abstracts are due by January 11, 2017.
LMPC 2017 is a unique event that showcases the latest technological and scientific advances related to those industrial processes used to cast large ingots of highly alloyed metals. The conference presents a blend of academic and industrial papers on topics including advances in controls and process simulation, ingot defect formation and characterization studies, and process parameter-material properties characterization. The program includes but is not limited to the following topics:
- Primary and Secondary Melt Processing including:
- Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM)
- Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR)
- Electroslag Refining (ESR)
- Electron Beam Cold Hearth Remelting (EBCHR)
- Plasma Melting
- Physical Property Measurements of Liquid Metals
- Casting and Solidification of Liquid Metals
- Modelling of Metallurgical Processes including Heat/Mass Flow Modelling of Liquid Metal and Solidification
- Ceramic, Slag and Refractory Reactions with Liquid Metals
- Refining, Evaporation and Gas/Metal Reactions
- Fundamentals of Reactions involving Liquid Metals in Productions Processes
If you are interested in submitting an abstract for consideration, submit to ProgramMaster by January 11, 2017.
To assist the conference organizing committee in evaluating abstracts fairly, please be as clear and detailed in your abstract as possible. Abstracts should be 150 words or less.
If you have any questions regarding abstract submission, send an e-mail to TMS Programming Staff.
