A life cycle inventory (LCI) looks at the resources, energy and emissions from the steel production to the end of its life. The International Iron and Steel Institute undertook the first worldwide LCI in 1996 and updated in in 2000. It is currently undergoing its second update which should be complete in 2008. From this webpage, you can link to an LCI policy statement, a methodology report, a checklist and a list of product descriptions. You can also fill out an online questionaire to request the LCI data.
