This three volume set with 2954 pages contains the papers presented at REWAS '04, the Global Symposium on Recycling, Waste Treatment and Clean Technology. The conference, held in Madrid, Spain, September 26-29, 2004, served as a forum for the world's scientific and technical communities to address the continuing globalization of environment protection through progress in the recycling technology, re-engineering of the production system and clean technologies. The proceedings of REWAS '04 emphasize the new environmental protection aspects in research, development and applications concerned with air, water and soil. Major new technology will be presented at this conference so as to stimulate mutual interaction among the scientific and technical communities of the five continents.
