Eric Nyberg, a senior research scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington, has been hunting for nearly 30 years in the state of Washington, and has taken deer and elk from several northwest states. However, in 2003, after drawing a "Non-Resident" elk hunting permit for the state of Montana, he became interested in archery.

Below are photos from one of Nyberg's hunting adventures. The elk, which earned him a place in the Pope & Young Club Bowhunting Big Game Records of North America record book, is just one of two elk that he has named. Enjoy the photos of "Rudolph," or is it "Randolph?"

(Some of these images may not be for the squeamish).
