In my July JOM editorial, I describe how U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee "recently traveled to Oak Ridge National Laboratory to advocate on behalf of launching a 'New Manhattan Project.' This ambitious project would give the United States clean energy and energy independence within a generation." Will it happen?
