This brochure describes the Direct Metal Laser Sinterning (DMLS) process to make end-use metal parts directly from 3D CAD data. This “additive” technology is described: fine layers of metal powder are fused using a focused laser beam. No tooling is required. Use of the DMLS process in aerospace applications, including specifically producing complex exhaust manifold forms and other options from a cobalt chrome superalloy. Capabilities of 3T’s DMLS machines are also described.
