The following flow charts attempt to list important cast magnesium products being made as die castings, sand and permanent mold castings and thixomolded® products. In these charts, various alloys are categorized as either highly castable, high ductility, high strength or high temperature to indicate a characteristic for which the product is best known. The charts are illustrative and may not include all products being made. Also, there is some subjectivity as to which characteristic should be associated with each alloy. Users are invited to contact the moderator with comments or additional alloys.
