The goal of the Materials Performance Targeted Thrust program is to further enhance the understanding of the role of engineered barriers in waste isolation. In this progress report, particular focus is given to corrosion of metal surfaces covered with particulates and deposits, evolution of corrosion damage by localized corrosion, and evolution of environment on metal surfaces.
