The goal of the Biomedical Engineering Asynchronous Learning Web Pages is to orient the learner to fundamental engineering concepts necessary for the education of the next-generation of biomedical engineers. Specifically, the web site has two overall topics on Biomaterials and Biomechanics. The modules on Biomaterials cover Materials Science and Engineering concepts with Biology to understand how to design better biomaterials. The modules on Biomechanics cover Mechanical Engineering concepts with Biology in order understand cell and tissue responses to mechanical forces. Each module includes self-tests and interactive learning activities.
