This site offers more than 20 metal casting case studies including: nickel-based superalloy floatwall panels for a jet engine combustor, steel diesel locomotive traction motor rotor disc, aluminum cylinder block for General Motors Truck/SUV engines, and magnesium internal interface frame for LCD digital projector. Each case study walks the user through performance goals, design requirements, materials selection, and lessons learned.

“Nice set of case studies in casting of various metals. Provides helpful discussion explaining choice of metal and casting process in part design. But transfer rates are *very* slow for both images and PDFs.” Adam Powell, Veryst
