• Point Defect Compensation
(The goal of this experiment is to determine how the excess charge associated with the dissolved pentavalent Nb is compensated in Bi2O3.)
• Polygonization in Rock Salt (This experiment examines the arrangement of dislocations in as received crystals, in crystals after plastic deformation, and in the deformed crystals after annealing.)
• Sintering (This laboratory exercise is intended to provide a concrete demonstration of a capillary driven process (sintering) that occurs in the solid state.)
