Dr. Manohar discusses a two-tier approach to teaching introductory M.S.E. courses which involves layering "web-based resources, multi-media resources, materials databases, model building, conference participation, and hands-on laboratory experiences" on top of the more traditional lecture sequence. Specific resources used are described, as well as an analysis of course effectiveness as judged by ABET outcomes met.
