This article describes the use of modeling tools at the University of Cambridge to design nickel-base superalloys for applications like aeroengines and power plants. Techniques include physically based models, neural networks and Gaussian process. The goal is to model mechanical behavior as a function of composition and processing and to predict phase diagrams.
