LibMesh is an Open Source 1-D, 2-D and 3-D library of finite element functions. Its forte is computational fluid dynamics, and it can also do linear elastic mechanics and Cahn-Hilliard phase field simulations, all with adaptive remeshing. It is maintained by the CFDLab at the University of Texas at Austin. It links to the PETSc suite of parallel solvers and data objects from Argonne National Laboratories, and can use ParMETIS for mesh (re-)partitioning.
