Claude H.P. Lupis

Lecture Title: "Greenhouse Gases and the Metallurgical Process Industry"

Biography: Claude H.P. Lupis is the principal of Claude Lupis and Associates Pty Ltd.

He earned his M.S. at the University of Paris in 1959, his M.B.A. from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises in 1960, and his Ingénieur Civil des Mines in 1961 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris. In 1965, he obtained his D.Sc. in metallurgy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a member of the faculty at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, which later became the Carnegie Mellon University, until 1980. Since then, he has held various executive positions in mining companies. He has been the principal of Claude Lupis and Associates since 1982.

Dr. Lupis is the author or coauthor of more than 40 papers and was commissioned by the World Bank to give an evaluation of teaching and research programs, policies, and equipment at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, China, in 1991.
