Abstract: Multiscale cyber design methodology, which usually includes disparate entities such as material characterization, mechanical experimentation, material design, and design optimizations under uncertainty is presented in the context of a finite element analysis. Multiscale models, validated by multiscale experiments, enable the quantification of the appropriate structural property relations. Cyberinfrastructure employs design optimization algorithms integrating multiscale models and experiments. An example is given of this methodology.
