The Materials and Society Committee is part of the TMS Administrative Board committees.
Our Mission: The Materials and Society Committee is charged with implementing the strategic direction provided by and making recommendations to the Board of Directors in the materials and society area. The committee seeks to strengthen TMS leadership in the area of resource sustainability, specifically focusing on materials resource recovery and recycling; energy and the environment; and sustainable materials design and processing. The committee coordinates society activities to make materials and society elements more pervasive in the society.
