The course is designed for individuals planning to take the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) Licensing Exam. Examination requirements vary by state. Potential exam takers should consult their state licensing board for specific requirements or visit the NCEES website for more information.

This course is also open to individuals not planning on taking the PE exam, but who wish to refresh their knowledge in the technical areas covered by this course.

What You Will Learn

The TMS Metallurgical and Materials Engineering PE Licensing Exam Review Course will address a variety of approaches and methodologies, including design, analysis, application, and operations. Course instructors will review exam specification and knowledge areas, and will provide a refresher training on the following topical areas:

  • Ferrous materials, specifically encompassing stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, and alloyed steel
  • Light and nonferrous materials, specifically encompassing titanium and titanium alloys, aluminum and aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys, intermetallic alloys, precious metals, refractory alloys, superalloys, and other nonferrous metals
  • Ceramics, polymers, composites, and electronic materials, including glasses, functional ceramics, engineering ceramics, elastomers, thermoset, thermoplastic, composites, silicon, and other semiconductor materials
