The Materials and Science in Sports Symposium, sponsored by the Structural
Materials Division of The Minerals, Metals & Materials
Society (TMS), will be held at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort, Coronado,
California, April 22-25, 2001.
Materials and Science in Sports is organized to bring together those interested in technical aspects of sports. Themes may include design, materials, mechanics, dynamics, and biomechanics. All aspects of science applied to sports will be welcome, particularly those relating to advances in equipment and improvements in athletic performance.
The deadline to register in advance for the meeting has passed. To attend,
it will now be necessary to register on-site at the meeting. The deadline to
request a refund has also passed. If you have any questions, you may contact

Refund Policy: The deadline for all refunds is Monday, April 2, 2001.
No refunds will be issued at the meeting. All fees and tickets are non-refundable
after the April 2, 2001, deadline.

The main registration fee includes the Welcoming Reception, coffee breaks,
conference banquet, access to the technical sessions and a copy of the proceedings.
The student registration fee includes coffee breaks and access to the technical
sessions only.
All attendees of The Materials & Science in Sports Conference, including
authors and session chairs, are required to register.
Badges must be worn at all times to gain access to the technical sessions and
the social functions.
The Organizing Committee will issue letters of invitation to individuals who
need such a document to raise travel funds or obtain a visa. However, such letters
do not commit the Symposium Organizing Committee to providing financial support.

Refund Policy: Written requests must be sent to TMS Meeting Services,
184 Thorn Hill Road, Warrendale, PA 15086. No refunds will be issued after
April 2, 2001. A $50 processing fee will be charged on all cancellations.
Audio/Video Recording Policy: The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society
(TMS) reserves the right to any audio and video reproduction of all presentations
at every TMS-sponsored meeting. Recording of sessions (audio, video, still-photography,
etc.) intended for personal use, distribution, publication, or copyright without
the express written consent of TMS and the individual authors is strictly prohibited.
Contact the TMS Technical Programming Department to obtain a copy of the waiver
release form.
Americans With Disability Act: TMS strongly supports the Federal Americans
