Authors' Coffee

Authors are requested to attend the Authors' Coffee on the day of their presentation only. Authors' Coffee will be from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in Exhibit Hall "A" at the Convention Center.


Audio Visual Headquarters and Slide Preview Area

Authors are invited to preview their slides before their technical presentation. Slide preview will be available during Authors' Coffee each morning from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.. Slide preview will also be available Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.


Policy on Audio and Video Recording of Technical Paper Presentations/Sessions

The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) reserves the rights to any audio and video reproduction of all presentations at every TMS sponsored meeting. Recording of session (audio, video, still photography, etc.) intended for personal use, distribution, publication or copyright without the express written consent of TMS and the individual author is strictly prohibited.


Poster Session

A Poster Session is being held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. Presentations will be displayed on 4' x 8' poster boards; no formal oral presentation is required. The poster session will begin on Monday, February 5, 8:30 a.m. and remain on display until Wednesday, February 7, 5:00 p.m.. Authors of the posters will be available to answer questions on Monday and Wednesday between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m.. The Poster Session will be located in the Convention Center Lobby. Abstracts of the posters are included with the addenda/erratta in the printed program.


Editors'/Organizers' Workshop

In conjunction with the Editors' workshop, TMS will hold an Organizers' workshop. The two workshops will be held jointly on Wednesday, February 7, in Exhibit Hall A of the Convention Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This workshop will cover the basics of obtaining permission to publish/organize; society policies on various aspects of publishing/organizing; the proper timetable; practices in editing/organizing proceedings/symposia; procedures for indexing; and experiences of other editors in publishing symposium proceedings. This view of policies and procedures will enable workshop attendees to deal confidently and efficiently with organizing a symposium and publishing the proceedings.
